Decorate My Spooky Dining Room with Me & Article!
I feel like a dining room is so central to the home. It’s a place where you eat, work, and spend time with others. While some homes have a dining room that’s only used on special occasions, mine is used often. I wanted it to be a really functional and stylish modern space that also reflected all the dark and creepy elements of my style.
I’m so thankful to be working with Article again. Thank you so much to Article for sponsoring this blog post. Their mid-century style is my favorite and they make so many pieces that can just completely change the look and feel of a room. Their modern style is an easy way to make your space beautiful. They make high-quality articles that stand the test of time, and at a great price too. I have other articles from past collaborations that have held up so well over time. I’ve also purchased some articles from them too. That said, all opinions in this post are my own and any thoughts I’m sharing here about the pieces are my own as well. If you follow me on Instagram or YouTube then you know that I recently moved into a new home. I’ve had an amazing time setting it up and being able to really create my ideal dining room has been so much fun.
For my dining room, Article provided me with several amazing articles for the space – the Feast Chairs, Seno Dining Table, Crescent Floor Lamp, and the Leap Table Lamp. I also had several other articles from previous collaborations with them that went perfectly into this room – the Geome sideboard, Archive bookshelf, and Nosh Chairs.
This is my first time having my own large dining room. Sure, I’ve had small apartment-sized rooms. And while they are nice to have, they don’t exactly ever have the warm and welcoming vibe I want for my dining room. I also really wanted to have a space where multiple people could spend time together. Eating, drinking, and making memories together. I wanted a great dining table to anchor the room together, and functional pieces around it.
The Seno Dining Table for 8 in Walnut was perfect for this space. This solid wood dining table is big enough for any gathering I might host. But also perfect for days when I take my laptop out of my office and work at the table. This style comes in several shapes and sizes too, which I think is really neat. Since it’s natural wood, there are also going to be slight variations in the grain.
I love the combination of the Nosh Chairs, which I already had, and the Feast Dining Chairs in Vine Green & Walnut. The Feast Chair has a steel frame, making it super sturdy. I love the texture of the fabric. As a bonus, it’s also easy to spot clean too. It comes in six different colors and all of them have a nicely padded seat, back, and arms.
I love how the Geome Sideboard works perfectly in the space. It adds storage for dining essentials. While I have it decorated right now, the top is also perfect for placing extra dishes when entertaining. I’ve had this sideboard for a few years and it’s held up so well over time. I absolutely love it and think it really shows how well-made Article furniture is.
On the top of the sideboard, I currently have some plants, a tray of plant-based Sjaak’s Chocolates, a coffin terrarium, and some small dishes.
If you want to come along with me while I set up and decorate the space, please do! The video below will show you the process and give you a peek at some close-ups of my decorations and styling picks.
My dining room has an overhead light, large windows, and skylights. I love the amount of natural light that I get. I actually really dislike the overhead light. It makes the space feel more like an office than a cozy dining room. This is why I love having the Leap Table Lamp and the Crescent Floor Lamp in there. Both have a matte black finish. The Crescent Floor Lamp has a really solid black marble base. The Leap Floor Lamp has really pretty copper details.
I styled my dining room Articles with a handful of accessories and plants. You can see that I included tarot decks, a fun wine holder, skull with snake, Phantom Wine, and Ritual Zero Proof on my bookshelf with some thrifted items. On the table, I used a coffin cheeseboard, bird leg candlesticks, Geometry House Towels & Napkins, and lots of pumpkins to create an unconventional centerpiece.
If my blend of mid-century modern with spooky isn’t your thing, no worries at all. It’s my cup of tea but I know it’s not for everyone. I love how Article pieces complement each other so well. They really do work in any home and with any style!
